Assisted Living/Nursing Home Ministry

Our Nursing Home Ministry spreads the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to help those individuals who are unable to attend our services.  We provide support, encouragement, a helping hand and a caring ear so that no brother or sister is forgotten.

Each month, Pastor Cal or Rev. Pat Neville, with the help of deacons and church members visit Broadview and Baldwinville Assisted Living Centers/Nursing Homes.  We present a brief and meaningful communion service.  Each member of our ministry team leads a portion of the service.  Our music volunteers play for the services.  The hymns we sing become a highlight for the residents.

We enjoy a time of visiting with each of those, who attend the service.  We offer prayer and concern for each one.  Every month is different.  At different times of the year, various members of the congregation join us to share their talents at the service.  It is not unusual for some of our young people to join in the ministry, as well.

Schedule of Services:  The First Sunday of each month.

1:00 PM  Broadview Assisted Living Center in Winchendon.  We gather in the Chapel.

2:15 PM  Baldwinville Nursing Home in Baldwinville.  We gather in the All Purpose Room.

If you know of someone that you would like to visit us at one of these facilities, please email us their name and which facility they are at.  We are always glad to visit them and meet new friends.

  • Missions

At the United Parish, our focus has been to reach out to minister and meet the needs of those around us.  Even though we are under a "stay at home advisory" in Massachusetts, our ministry to others has not stopped.  Our ministry to others has changed with the needs that have arisen.

The ladies of the United Parish have been summoned to sew over a 100 cotton surgical hats for Heywood Hospital's Intensive Care Unit and Emergency room.  Within 48 hours of the call, sixty-two hats were delivered on Monday, April 6th.  Another 40 hats will be dropped off on Wednesday.   Sewers have fervently prayed as they sewed each hat.   Many thanks to all the ladies that have volunteered to meet this need.  We couldn't have done this project without you!  Our ladies are the best!

If you are an experienced sewer and want to help as needs arise, please call the church office and leave your name and contact information...
